I was so excited when James contacted me about proposing to his girlfriend Emily! He & Emily were planning a trip back to Athens where they met two years ago, and James decided that would be the perfect time & place to pop the question. He decided to ask her at the bench where they had first begun to really get to know each other. Prior to the proposal, I went to scope out this bench on UGA’s campus and found a perfect spot to hide in the bushes. Proposals makes me more nervous than pretty much anything else I photograph, because not only do I have the pressure of potentially missing the big moment, but I also have to stay hidden! Fortunately I’ve been practicing my ninja skills for quite some time now, because even James didn’t spot me (and he knew where I was going to be!).
Emily’s reaction to James getting down on one knee was ADORABLE. I then made myself visible and we walked around UGA to capture their first moments as fiancés. I LOVE how unique Emily’s engagement ring is and how she couldn’t stop smiling, despite the cold weather. Congratulations, Emily & James! Thanks for letting me capture these photos for you!
