Maddison and Matthew grew up in the same town but never really connected until they both attended the University of Georgia. Even then, they took the long road to dating. At first, Maddison avoided Matthew’s attempts at asking her out because she was “too chicken.” She then bought a guitar during her sophomore year, and he offered to teach her how to play it. They had a date & time set for a lesson, and Maddison bailed at the last minute, again out of fear and intimidation. Fast forward to 2014 after Matthew had graduated from UGA and while Maddison was interning in Atlanta, and finally they had their first date. On the drive home, Maddison texted one of her best friends that Matthew was the one. They’re both so glad that they waited to begin dating, because “timing is everything” and they had become much better versions of themselves.
They tied the knot on October 21 at Cloverleaf Farm in Athens, one of my FAVORITE venues. Everything about the day was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, the staff at A Divine Event pulled everything together so magnificently, and the emotion was through the roof. Maddison shed tears during her sweet First Look with Matthew, again as she walked down the aisle, and of course when her father gave a toast about his little girl. I adore these photos, and I adore this couple. Thank you, Maddison & Matthew, for trusting my team to capture your memories and for the thoughtfulness & kindness you have shown us.
