This moment is hands-down one of my favorite moments I’ve ever captured!! Backstory… Blakelee contacted me about taking her senior photos from UGA. She wanted to include two of her sorority sisters in the shoot as well. We scheduled a date and were all good to go. And then I was contacted by Blakelee’s boyfriend of 6 years, Matt. He had the brilliant idea of driving all the way from Mississippi and surprising Blakelee during her senior session… with a marriage proposal! I loved this idea because 1) There was no way Blakelee would see it coming. After all, we scheduled the session for a Wednesday during a work week, so there was no way Matt should’ve been coming up. 2) Blakelee was going to be all dolled up for photos already!
Matt & I were in communication for weeks leading up to the session to work out details like what he should wear to coordinate Blakelee’s outfit choice, where he should sneak up from behind for the best surprise, etc. And what made it even better was that the weather forecast was really unideal for the day of the shoot, so I had been chatting with Blakelee all week about rescheduling, and let HER choose (or so she thought) to keep the shoot for Wednesday. All this to say, she was SHOCKED when Matt showed up at the end of her session. And her two best friends AND both mothers were able to witness the happy moment and celebrate with them!! Congrats, Blakelee & Matt!
