The Wedding Experience

For the past 10 years, I have lived and breathed weddings. Not because I enjoy photographing pretty dresses or getting a slice of cake at receptions (but those are definitely perks!), but because I love serving people and investing in their relationships. Most of my couples work with me for over a year between the planning process, the engagement session, the wedding day itself, and the big Reveal of their images. It’s no surprise that over that time, my clients become dear friends of mine.

I now book a limited number of weddings each year in order to ensure that each wedding couple receives the best experience possible.  After photographing over 200 weddings and traveling everywhere from Alaska to Ireland to capture couples’ special days, I’ve seen it all!  And I’ve decided that I never want to see a poorly planned timeline or stressed bride again. It is my goal to provide as much insight and advice as possible to couples while they plan their wedding, including tips & tricks, my recipe for a “dream timeline,” recommendations for my favorite vendors, etc.  When a bride books a wedding with me, she gains a person in her corner who will listen to her concerns & hold her hand throughout the process.

If you can't tell by looking at my photos, I love bright images filled with color.  I love sunlight. Most of all, I love people and I love love.  I love capturing genuine emotion.  I love having to be quick on my trigger to capture the spontaneous moments during wedding days that are so fleeting but will exist forever in my images.  I love that every couple, every love story, every wedding day is unique. And I love knowing that what I do often brings my clients to tears when they relive their wedding day through my photos.  I believe your story is important and your memories are worth preserving. I believe your photos should last for generations and exist on walls and in albums for your kids and grandkids to appreciate one day.

I believe that photography is an investment, and I believe that your story is worth investing in.

To learn more about The Wedding Experience, please contact me! I would love to learn more about your big day & see if we'd be a good fit for each other!  And I do provide custom quotes if your wedding plans do not fit into The Wedding Experience (ex: if you're eloping at the courthouse, having an intimate destination wedding, etc.).

Engagements

Engagement sessions are my favorite way to get to know a couple without the time constraints of a wedding day. When booked separately, engagement sessions begin at $700.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your photographic style?

I consider my style to be timeless and authentic. I aim to keep my photos as natural as possible, because I don’t want them to look “dated” fifty years from now. I love capturing the candid moments that showcase genuine, raw emotions. My goal is to be invisible during the parts of your day that unfold organically… but to step in and direct as needed.  As you can see in my portfolio, sunlight and bright colors make me giddy. While I prefer natural light, I do utilize flash when necessary (indoor spaces, nighttime receptions, etc.).

What inspires you?

Sunlight, exploring new locations, and all things pretty/sparkly (I’m a sucker for detail shots!).  But really I am most inspired by people. I joke that if I were to travel to the prettiest place on Earth but didn’t have a person to photograph while there, I wouldn’t even bring my camera.  That might be a stretch, but I fell in love with people long before I found photography. I love capturing the unique relationships between people and quick moments of emotion, because those are the photos that are going to be cherished for generations.

Where are you located and do you travel?

I am currently located in Athens, Georgia, but I do indeed travel!  From Alaska to Ireland, I've been all over the place capturing love stories!  My most frequent locations are in the Southeast, as I'm often photographing weddings in cities such as Atlanta, Augusta, Charleston, Savannah, Greenville, and Chattanooga.  But if you're located elsewhere or are having a destination wedding, I'd love to adventure with you!

Do you have a second photographer?

Yes! If you book with Claire Diana Photography, you actually get a second photographer AND an assistant. My team of 3 works together to ensure that your day runs smoothly and that all of the important moments are captured.

Do you have backup equipment and liability insurance?

These are two of the most important questions you should ask every wedding photographer you’re considering!  I have multiple camera bodies and an assortment of amazing lenses (and backup lenses!) to capture your day. I also have full equipment and liability insurance, so you don’t need to worry about a thing!  NOTE: Many venues require photographers to carry their own insurance, so also check with your venue to see if this is necessary. If the venue requests a copy of my insurance documents, I will happily take care of submitting them for you!

Do you shoot more than one event on my wedding day?

My team is actually unique in that we only photograph one wedding per weekend.  I’ve made this my policy because I want my wedding couples to have 100% of my attention and energy as we near their special day.  We also only accept a limited number of weddings annually, because we want to ensure that we provide a personal and amazing experience to each of our couples.

Do your wedding packages include an engagement session?

Yes! Engagement sessions are my absolute favorite, and therefore I gift a complimentary engagement session to each of my wedding couples.  I’ve found these sessions to play a big role in the overall wedding experience, as they provide an opportunity for us to get to know each other before the big day.  You learn during this time what it’s like to be in front of my camera, and I learn any image preferences you may have. The end result… We go into your wedding day with full confidence that we’re going to have an amazing time and create some awesome images!

Do you offer products such as canvases, prints, and albums?

Do I?!?! Tangible products are what I live for! I am a firm believer that your images are too important to exist solely on a hard drive, a folder on your computer, or in a Facebook album.  Your memories are worth cherishing on a daily basis in your home, be it a canvas over your couch, a framed portrait over your mantle, or in a photo album that you will pull out to show your kids & grandkids one day. I show samples of my heirloom product options at your Reveal, and I send over product pricing when you inquire about your wedding!

How soon will I get my wedding photos?

Don’t worry – I am just as excited to deliver your wedding photos as you are to see them!  I will be in touch about scheduling your in-studio Reveal (or online Reveal for out-of-state clients!) within 30 days of your wedding.  In the meantime, I will share a “sneak peek” or two hold you over!

How do I reserve you to photograph my wedding?

The #1 most important thing to me is that we are a great fit for each other.  After all, I’ll be spending more time with you on your wedding day than your future spouse will!  :) After chatting and deciding to move forward with my services, I will tell you how to submit your nonrefundable deposit & online contract. Please note that dates on my calendar remain open until I have received the deposit & contract.

KIND WORDS FROM couples

It doesn't get better than Claire Diana. Claire did a great job, and took outstanding engagement and wedding photos. She worked so hard for us, and had such genuine enthusiasm for her work. Many people commented that she was doing a great job throughout the day. We are so glad to have had Claire as our wedding photographer. The best choice I made was to marry my now-husband. The second best was hiring Claire.

— Lauren Ivey

Claire is AMAZING! First of all, she's the absolute sweetest. She makes you feel instantly comfortable taking pictures (even if you're incredibly awkward like myself). I really felt like I was just shooting pictures with a close friend! She's totally calm and collected in any situation. She gives great direction but also makes sure to ask if there are any specific shots you want to get too. Hire her now! She won't disappoint!

— Ellen Fales

Claire is amazing! I tried to book over 2.5 years out after finding her on Pinterest. She literally has become a great friend and she was my most trusted vendor throughout my wedding. She helped me in ways I never could have imagined and she made the entire process seamless! I can’t imagine how it would have been with anyone else. Her vision, creativity, love of light... it’s incredible. She was an absolute dream!

— Jasmin Severino Hernandez

The best advice I can give a bride and groom is to get to know their wedding photographer!  Your photographer will spend more time with you on the wedding day than your soon-to-be spouse! They should be someone you connect with and trust completely… after all, your memories depend on them!

It is hard to get to know someone over a website, so if you're interested in my services, I'd love to grab coffee, invite you to my studio, or at least do a phone call!
