I feel like it was just yesterday that I photographed Shaquila’s senior portraits from the University of Georgia. But she reminded me that it was 4 years ago. FOUR YEARS. It’s crazy how time flies. I was thrilled when she reached out again to take some photos around UGA’s campus to celebrate finishing her Master’s degree. Repeat clients make my heart soar, because it feels like catching up with an old friend (and because when you’re a wedding photographer, you don’t typically have repeat clients — and actually hope you don’t! :)).
Shaquila showed up in a STUNNING yellow dress. Most UGA graduates tend to wear red & black to represent the university’s colors, but I LOVED this pop of yellow in her shoot. Shaquila went to Ghana this year for a study abroad trip, and it was such a transformative experience for her that she wanted to represent the colors of the Ghana flag in these pictures. We also strategically scheduled her portraits to be during UGA’s Spring Break, so we had the entire campus all to ourselves. Rather than rushing through the popular locations because of other people trying to use them, we had time to play around and get creative. It was one of my most laid-back senior sessions, and I love the images we created!
