I met Amber & Justin through a previous wedding couple of mine, Anna & Tyson, so I first got to photograph them as a bridesmaid & groomsman and then as a bride & groom! Their wedding day was absolutely dreamy and oh so FUN. They got married at the incredible Ford Plantation down near Savannah on a perfect 75 degrees & sunny day. After sharing a sweet first look, we proceeded to take pictures amongst the gorgeous oak trees and Spanish moss. Every detail came together perfectly thanks to Caroline Carter Events, and I witnessed some of the most breathtaking florals I’ve ever seen by Garden on the Square. Some things I loved from their amazing day include:
- their “You’re My Lobster” cake topper (Friends, anyone?!)
- watching Amber’s siblings tear up after first seeing her in her dress
- the groom’s cake tribute to JR’s Bait Shack, the Athens bar where Amber & Justin first met
- that Amber walked down the aisle to the Feather theme song from Forrest Gump
- the AMAZING live painting of the ceremony by Wed on Canvas that Justin surprised Amber with (#bestgiftever)
- the dueling piano band that took requests and kept the dance floor hopping before sending the couple off with sparklers under the moonlight
All in all, I couldn’t have imagined a better day for this sweet couple. We had to settle for an “online reveal” since they now live in Iowa, but even seeing their faces over a screen made my day. Thanks, Justin & Amber, for trusting me to capture such a special day, for your sweet “shout out” on the mic during the reception, and for being an overall JOY to work with. :)
