Camille & Cole met in February 2013 at a church function at Ten Pins Tavern… Cole went up to reset Camille’s bowling pins during her turn, and the rest is history! Camille had always told her mom she’d meet her future husband through their church, Athens First United Methodist Church. She was correct, and on April 2, 2016 they said their vows at the place that brought them together. This was the biggest wedding I’ve ever photographed, as the entire sanctuary was packed to the last pew of family & friends celebrating this sweet couple.
Camille & Cole got ready at AFUMC and shared their First Look in the sanctuary. After the ceremony, they traveled to the Athens Country Club for their reception. I love how Camille & Cole included so many unique touches to their day… Artist Jamie Calkin live-painted the ceremony & reception, pianist Janis Maxwell entertained guests while they mingled, and Hairy Dawg even made an appearance! Tons of fun was had by all, and I love the photos my team captured throughout the day.
Most of all, I loved working with this couple throughout the entire wedding process. Their love for each other is inspiring, and their story is a testament of God’s goodness. Camille was one of those brides who contacted me often — sometimes to ask a question, sometimes to keep me updated on wedding things, & sometimes just to send me sweet words of encouragement. Hearing from her was always a highlight of my day, as she always radiated kindness & positivity. Her bridal portrait session fell on the one day Athens saw snow flurries, which might normally scare a bride into rescheduling, but Camille braved the *freezing cold* like a champ. She also braved the strong gusting winds on the wedding day in order to get some final “golden hour” shots on the golf course, despite her cathedral-length veil trying to take off like a kite in the wind.
