Jasmin & Jose met in 2010 while both studying at the University of Georgia. They first ran into each other when Jose was looking at an apartment where Jasmin was a leashing consultant. He signed a lease, but neither expected to see each other again. After some months, they started running into each other again. Jasmin would wait on a bench at a UGA bus stop, and Jose would walk by the bench to get to class. After shooting her lots of smiles, one day he stopped and asked, “Do I know you from somewhere?” That same night, Jasmin added Jose on Facebook, and the rest is history.
Jasmin and Jose dated for six years before the proposal. During those years, they both graduated from UGA and moved to different cities to pursue their careers. On their 6th year anniversary, Jose took Jasmin to Yonah Mountain Vineyards (her favorite vineyard), and they enjoyed a peaceful afternoon overlooking the mountains and reminiscing over the past six years. This is when Jose popped the question and Jasmin said yes!
I love that they chose Yonah Mountain Vineyards as their wedding venue, since obviously the place holds a lot of significance to them. I also love that they came back to Athens where it all began for their engagement photos. They have been very intentional throughout the entire planning process, putting lots of care into every detail. Jasmin & Jose also put a lot of trust into their chosen vendors, which was hugely helpful in creating a successful timeline & plan for the day… which came in handy when we were thrown a curveball!
It had been consistently beautiful weather leading up to the weekend of their wedding. And then on the day-of, a terrible storm blew through. I’m not kidding when I say it rained ALL DAY without even a minor break. At first, I was pretty devastated, because they had spent years (literally) planning out this day, and now plans were changing. We had to move everything inside, and I could tell Jasmin was heartbroken about not getting married in the vineyard as planned.
But even though the weather threw a wrench in our original plans, thanks to an amazing timeline and an adventurous couple, we were still able to get fantastic photos! Multiple times throughout the day, I asked if they wanted to venture out into the rain, and Jasmin continued repeating “Whatever you tell us to do, we’ll do!” It’s that kind of trust that allows vendors to do our best work. Now when I look back at these pictures, I remember the amazing attitudes, the laughs, the last-minute “Plan B” decisions, the craziness of it all, and the LOVE that was so abundant throughout the entire day.
Even though the day was different than they had expected, it was still a dream. Jasmin looked like a princess, the florals were incredible, their bilingual ceremony was so touching, they had some of the best dancing music I’ve ever witnessed at a reception, and their guests had a BLAST. Thank you, Jasmin & Jose, for taking me on this journey with you, and congratulations!! And thank you to all of the wonderful vendors that helped pull this day together.
