I met Kaitlyn many many years ago when we were both in preschool! Kaitlyn is the same age as my brother, and I am the same age as one of her brothers, so our families had a lot in common and spent lots of time together when I was young. Over the years Kaitlyn and I lost touch, but I was thrilled when she reached out about photographing her upcoming wedding. The past year of working together has felt more like catching up with an old friend than serving a client. Kaitlyn & Will’s wedding was held at Fair Weather Farms in Monroe, GA, and it was a blast!
When meeting Kaitlyn’s fiancé (at the time), Will, during their engagement session on Saint Simons Island, it was immediately evident how head-over-heels he was for Kaitlyn. One of the things that stood out to me the most on their wedding day was how much Will couldn’t WAIT to see Kaitlyn. While my team continued to pop in between the guys and girls during the getting ready portion of the day, Will kept asking “How’s Kaitlyn doing? When can I see her?” and I kept assuring him that the First Look was coming up soon! This is actually one of the main reasons I suggest First Looks to my couples — it allows you to spend more time with the one you love most on your wedding day, and ALL the nerves rush away once you’re together. After their First Look, we got to relax and enjoy time exploring the gorgeous property and taking fun photos with their wedding party. Many couples tell me that this is their favorite part of the day.
Kaitlyn has a heart of gold, and it was no surprise to me that her “bridespeople” (she had guys & girls on her side, which I love!) flew from all across the country to spend this special day with her. Within the short amount of time that they were all together, they choreographed a special dance for the reception in order to get people out of their seats. I also adored how Kaitlyn chose a color palette of pastels rather than a single color for her ladies to wear… The day ended up being one of the most colorful days I’ve ever photographed. Shout out to JL Designs, one of my favorite florists, for the unique and colorful bouquets that coordinated so well with the dresses.
There’s so much more I could say about their big day, but I can’t wait for you to see the photos!!
