Okay, I know you’re here to see wedding photos, but let me tell you… Kayla & Jacob’s helicopter proposal on the Ventanas rooftop AND engagement session at the romantic Summerour Studio are just as epic and worth checking out if you haven’t already.
Kayla & Jacob met their freshman year of high school in gym class, but it wasn’t till their junior year that they began dating. They went to different colleges (UGA and GA Tech) but only ever spent a few weekends apart. Now that they’ve graduated and are working and have two dogs, they finally tied the knot! In Kayla’s words: “After almost 7 years of dating, it sure is time!!”
Their wedding was at the Georgian Terrace Hotel in Atlanta — my first time there and I was BLOWN AWAY by the interior architecture. And every little detail of the wedding was stunning, down to Kayla’s Christian Louboutin red bottom shoes, to the gold-covered cake by Frosted Pumpkin, to the flowers by Chelsea Floral Designs.
Jacob & Kayla give me some major Prince Harry & Meghan Markle vibes, and they looked SO GOOD in their wedding attire. Kayla’s all-lace Viero Bridal dress fit her like a glove and is probably the most detailed wedding dress I’ve ever seen. And its removable bell sleeves allowed her to have two completely different looks for the ceremony & reception. Jacob is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and he ADORES Kayla and treats her like a princess. He teared up during their First Look and doted on her the rest of the day.
It started raining about 10-15 minutes into outdoor portraits, but you’d never know looking at the pictures, because luckily we had some covered balcony areas to work with — that and Kayla didn’t mind standing under a few raindrops for photos. :) The rain provided some spectacular night shots and forced us to do their confetti exit while circled around the ballroom floor… which was actually EPIC and I 10/10 recommend.
All in all, it was a fairytale day for this sweet couple, and I couldn’t be more honored that I got to capture it. Congrats, Kayla & Jacob!
