When talking about wedding plans, Sana & Chris couldn’t quite decide what they wanted to do or where they even wanted to have it. Florida was special because that’s where they met. India was special because that’s where Sana was born and raised and where her family currently is. Atlanta was special because that’s now “home” for Sana & Chris. And they even considered a destination wedding in Hawaii at one point. Needless to say, it was a big decision, and Sana will even admit that she’s “super indecisive.”
Therefore, they decided to go ahead and get legally married locally (which they would need to do anyway if they decided to have a wedding in India) while they figured out their plans. So on October 15, 2017, they officially tied the knot just the two of them. But they saved sharing their vows and exchanging their rings for when they could include their families.
On April 25, 2019, Sana & Chris held an intimate ceremony with their immediate families at Rhodes Hall in Atlanta. Sana’s family came all the way from India, and her mother told me she carried Sana’s traditional Indian wedding dress in her arms as her “carry on” item while traveling to the states. One of my favorite parts of the evening was witnessing their familial interactions… so much joy and affection! Chris’s niece was the flower girl, and Sana’s sister officiated the ceremony. It was an incredibly special day, and there were tears all around… especially on Chris’s face as Sana came down the aisle.
It was also my first time photographing at Rhodes Hall, which is the COOLEST venue. It looks like a castle and is tucked right in downtown Atlanta. Sana & Chris agreed to climb a million tiny staircases in order to get some rooftop shots against the city skyline, and I’m so glad they did.
Congratulations, Sana & Chris! Now you get to celebrate a wedding anniversary and vow renewal anniversary! :) Thank you for allowing me to capture this joyous occasion.
