Sarah & Carson met through mutual friends and soon began their own friendship. Both had attended the University of Georgia at different points, and ultimately both moved back to Athens after time away. When Sarah was in the process of moving back, Carson showed up with a toolbox, ready to help her move the last few heavy items in from the trailer. Her mom pulled her aside and said “you should date this guy.” Well, after spending more time together, Sarah & Carson agreed! They have now built a life they love in the Classic City, and they just tied the knot in their church, First Presbyterian Church of Athens.
Sarah & Carson are one of my #CovidCouples who had to endure many changes to the wedding day they had originally planned. They made the hard decision to move the wedding back by two months, along with downsizing their guest count, changing their reception venue, having to get many new vendors, etc. etc. I was blown away by their constant positive attitudes & focus on what matters through what I’m sure was a very stressful process. And at the end of the day, yes, their wedding definitely looked different than what they had initially envisioned, but they will tell you it was still absolutely perfect.
They got ready at Hyatt Place Athens/Downtown, then headed to the church for the ceremony, and finished with a reception at Wall & Broad. We got to swing by UGA’s North Campus for some special post-ceremony pictures (we also got campus photos during their engagement session), and then they danced the night away with their closest friends and family. I loved how thoughtful they were by making custom masks for their guests and for live streaming the event for those who couldn’t attend. The day was full of so much love from near and far, and I am just so happy for this couple.
