Self-love is a journey. It ebbs and flows. The way we see ourselves changes over time.
I had a client who hated her arms until she realized that they were capable of lifting her parents in their dying days. She became their primary caretaker and had to flip them over in bed and lift them out of chairs. Those arms went from “big” to “strong” in her eyes, as they cared for those she loved.
I had a client who hated her lower tummy until she birthed twins and now looks at every stretch mark and fold as one of her greatest accomplishments.
What we see when we look in the mirror now won’t always be what we see. One day, we will see our biggest insecurities with kinder eyes. Maybe we will even begin to love those parts of ourselves.
And when that day comes, I hope my clients have these images to look back on with a new perspective.
When I had my own session with Julie Socher and saw my images for the first time, my eyes went straight to my insecurities and my gut reaction was a strong “no” to some of the photos. I ultimately purchased them all, and I’m so glad I did, because now some of those “no’s” are my favorite images.
My goal is that these sessions will help open women’s eyes to the masterpieces they are, and that they’ll walk away with images they LOVE… and images they’ll come to love over time as they find new admiration for their bodies.
Because our bodies are badass.
Please enjoy the photos below of a client who started her fitness journey 4 years ago and did this session to celebrate how strong she is and how far she’s come.
