This blog post is MOSTLY about my new mural (keep scrolling!), but I realized I never shared pictures from when I began turning this space into my dream studio. I started by painting the front door to match my branding colors. This cottage was built in 1900 and has been quite the oasis for me (and my clients). It’s a safe, body-positive space where I get to love on women and show them that they are a work of art.
I recently hired a dear friend — the VERY talented Kelsey Carlton — to help in my bathroom makeover by painting a mural. Kelsey has helped me with multiple projects in the studio, including building a brick wall in one of my shooting rooms, but this is by far my favorite work of hers. And she did this while 34 weeks pregnant!! I am so amazed.
I had no vision for this mural, and the lack of direction had me dragging my feet and panicking. I told Kelsey “I have NO idea what I want. I just want it to include my brand colors and somehow tie into boudoir / working with women.” Within a day, she sent me a mockup of an idea, and it was an instant “YES. THAT’S IT.” I couldn’t have dreamed of anything more fitting.
I first asked the masses on Instagram, and luckily they chose correctly (I was always going to do a mural… ;)).
CHECK OUT HOW STUNNING THIS IS. Thank you, Kelsey, for always making my dreams come true.
Isn’t the finished product AMAZING?!
