I first met Ashley when taking her UGA senior photos 6 years ago! I can’t even believe how time flies. It was such a sweet surprise when she reached back out to me about her engagement & upcoming wedding.
I got to meet her fiancé Nick during their recent engagement session, and OH MY WORD I love the two of them together. They are one of those couples that just ooze happiness and joy. They shared the story of how they met… which was actually thanks to Ashley spotting Nick’s “Doctor Who” YETI tumbler in Sunday School one morning. They immediately bonded over their mutual love of Doctor Who (I can’t believe I’ve never seen it!), so naturally they incorporated said YETI tumbler into the engagement session… and a TARDIS ring box! I also cannot handle how stunning Ashley’s engagement ring is — which is her grandmother’s!
We took photos at Glover Park in the Marietta Square and of course captured photos at the bell where Nick proposed… and at the gazebo with yellow daisies as a nod to Gilmore Girls (okay, now THIS one I’ve seen multiple times!). We had the square all to ourselves one beautifully sunny morning, and it really was magical getting to just skip around (sometimes literally) and have fun.
At the end of the session, when I was already on cloud 9 from being around such giddy-in-love people, Ashley surprised me with a gift at our cars. The gesture itself was more than I could handle, but the contents of the gift left me speechless. From the Reese’s cups to the homemade bandana with Ladybug’s name on it to the homemade heating pad… It’s just too crazy how well Ashley knows me from following my journey over the years since I took her senior photos. I am beyond thankful to now get to walk alongside her & Nick during this special time in their lives, and I only hope I can make them feel as special as they’ve already made me feel.
