I’ve photographed Kayla multiple times (first as a bridesmaid in a wedding, and then I got to take celebratory “I got into Law School!” pictures for her). But it wasn’t until I was in Bangkok, Thailand (!!) that I got to finally meet her then-boyfriend, Ben. It was crazy timing that we ended up being in the same city across the world at the same time. I knew to reach out to Kayla for Thailand tips, because she & Ben have actually spent lengthy amounts of time teaching there, but I didn’t expect to be able to meet up for dinner while in the country. Anyway, I could tell immediately that she & Ben were a perfect fit for each other. And needless to say, I was THRILLED to later hear the news that they got engaged, and even more thrilled when they contacted me about photographing their wedding. Of course… wedding planning hasn’t been the easiest for them due to COVID, and they’re facing some stressful decisions (my heart really goes out to any 2020/2021 couples!!). But amidst the chaos right now, we were so fortunate to be able to get together to take some fun engagement photos. Kayla & Ben flew down from Connecticut and met up with me at Meadowlark 1939 — a DREAM venue of mine that I’ve been dying to explore for quite some time now. And it did not disappoint. The amount of breathtaking locations was a little overwhelming, but in the best way. And Kayla wore a STUNNING dress, which made the entire session look like it was straight out of a fairytale. My advice to any couples navigating this stressful time: Find time to press pause on the decision-making and do something FUN together to celebrate this season.
