Pam & Wes met in Houston, Texas in 2012 at a work happy hour while both working as rehabilitation therapists. Fast forward to July 2017 – after a move to Orlando, a master’s degree, another pending master’s degree, and a move to Atlanta – Wes finally popped the question. They’re getting married in Cancun, Mexico at a resort where they celebrated Wes’s graduation from PA school. It was the most relaxing and beautiful vacation they’ve ever taken, so they knew it’d be the perfect place for their wedding.
I’m so glad that they found me through an online search when looking for engagement photographers in the Atlanta area. While I’m actually located in Athens, it’s always fun for me to visit the city and explore new places. We started their engagement session at Old Fourth Ward, then walked over to Ponce City Market and the Beltline, and ended up at Centennial Olympic Park at nighttime.
Pam & Wes were so fun together… their playful shenanigans kept me entertained throughout the shoot. One of my favorite moments was while I was far away from the Centennial Olympic Park fountain with my zoom lens on and unable to communicate with Pam & Wes… but suddenly I saw Pam sneaking up from behind Wes ready to push him into the fountain. I always say: couples who play together, stay together. :)
Ending the evening with some night shots of the Ferris wheel was also a blast. It was my first time seeing it in person, and I loved how the colors changed and the park was packed with people of all ages having fun. In the below images, it won’t look like our locations were crowded (thanks to patience, crafty angles & some photography tricks!), but each of the locations we shot at were SLAMMED on that Friday evening. Nonetheless, I couldn’t have asked for a better day for the shoot, and I’m so thankful that Pam & Wes pushed me out of my comfort zone by requesting night shots (I typically only break out my lighting equipment at weddings).
Thank you, Pam & Wes, for trusting me to capture these images for you and for making this such a fun evening. Wishing you the best with your destination wedding!
