I can’t even believe that I just took Julie’s high school senior portraits. Her mom first contacted me back in the day when Julie was just turning 13 and when I was in my first years as a photographer. Over the past 5+ years, I have gotten to photograph this sweet girl time and time again, and she has blossomed into a beautiful young woman before my eyes. Her hair style and fashion choices change at every shoot, but her vibrant, fun, and sassy personality has stayed constant. It is always such a joy to photograph her and hear about how her life is changing.
Just as I’ve gotten to see Julie grow and transform over the years, she’s gotten to see me and my business do the same. From our first shoot when she came to my “studio,” AKA the living room of my tiny basement apartment, to watching me open my first real studio in downtown Watkinsville, to when I purchased The Diana House in Athens, she has been along for the entire ride. As a wedding photographer, I don’t often have repeat clients (which is a good thing if you think about it ;)), so having someone repeatedly hire me over the years has been a very unique experience for me and one that I am extraordinarily thankful for.
We always switch up the location of our shoots, and we’ve been all over the place — even to Savannah! This time we shot at the Chase Street Warehouses, which always provide really diverse backdrops. Julie is graduating from Oconee County High School with the Class of 2019, and I cannot wait to see where the future takes her. I almost teared up at the end of this last shoot, stating that this might be the last time I photograph her… but she assured me I’d be taking her engagement and wedding photos one day. :)
SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM to see a summary of our various shoots together over the years. I love that Julie’s mom saw the value in professionally capturing these teenage years. Getting to look back at these photos and memories and see how Julie has grown really is priceless.
The past 5 years…
