Maddie is graduating from a high school in Dahlonega, but she and her mom drove to Athens for me to take her senior portraits… and I’m so glad that they did! We were blessed with the most perfect fall day and weather (after having to reschedule once). We walked around the Chase Street Warehouses and utilized many different backdrops… with my favorite being the fall leaves!! This first photo was actually taken in a parking lot with surrounding cars, dumpsters, and a storage unit facility… which just goes to show that locations matter less than you think. Trust your photographer, because they’ll know how to turn “drab” locations into something wonderful.
All in all, I had a great time with Maddie and her mom, and I love how these photos turned out. My favorite part of the session was when her mom walked away to grab Maddie’s second outfit, and I asked Maddie “are you and your mom close?” She said “Very. Do you watch Gilmore Girls? That’s us.” And it was so evident throughout the session that she was right. I hope their trip to Athens and their time creating these images will be a fun memory they’ll always have.
