Brandy & Stuart met move-in day at UGA their freshman year. They became close friends while living on the same hall in the dormitory, but it wasn’t till their sophomore year that they began dating. Four years later, Stuart asked for permission to marry Brandy and began planning a surprise proposal at her favorite place… Disney World! He waited until Brandy’s family took their annual trip to Disney World, and he traveled down with his family to surprise her. With the help of her mother and sister, Brandy was positioned in front of Cinderella’s Castle with no idea that Stuart would be walking up with a stunning diamond ring that he chose himself. It was the best surprise and the proposal that Brandy had always dreamed of.
This past month, Brandy & Stuart said their vows at the Country Club of the South where Brandy looked like a LITERAL Disney princess. They had little touches of Disney throughout their wedding, and I even tried to surprise them by photographing their rings as a “Hidden Mickey.” I loved everything about their day… how HAPPY Brandy & Stuart were just to see each other during the First Look, how the bridesmaids doted on Brandy and took a million selfies with her, how the ring bearer happily obliged any time we asked him to hold the flower girl’s hand or twirl her, when Brandy made the decision to climb a very steep hill IN HER HEELS just to get to a pretty location for photos, and of course Stuart’s sick dance moves during the reception.
I also am impressed by how much thought they put into the little details of the day… like Brandy having two sets of shoes (pretty heels for the ceremony and comfy dancing shoes for the reception), and that they PAID for people to have a SAFE RIDE HOME — all you had to do was use a specific code for Lyft, and your ride was taken care of. I’m always concerned by the amount of drunk guests I see leaving weddings at the end of the night, so I thought this incentive to be safe was really thoughtful. But most of all, I loved how Brandy & Stuart put their complete trust in me. They were one of my most easy-going couples and truly trusted my vision for their timeline and photos, and I couldn’t have been happier with how smooth & fun their day was.
