When my dear friend Brenda texted me that she & Hunter were eloping in two weeks, my obvious response was “can I please photograph it?!” I’ve always dreamt of photographing them together because of how precious and fun they are, and obviously I would be honored to capture such a special occasion.
We woke up early and met at Sandy Creek Park where we played on the dock, frolicked in fields, and turned rose bushes into magic. I did not expect them to climb into the thorny, bug-infested bushes when I simply pointed out that there was an obvious “hole” in the bushes, but I should’ve known their adventurous spirits would be up for the task. And… it was 100% worth it (just wait for the photos below). Then, with just a few close friends and an officiant (also a friend of theirs), they had an intimate ceremony filled with laughter and tears.
The entire morning was beyond joyful, and so very “them.” I love when couples focus less on tradition and more on their own desires. They celebrated afterward with brunch downtown, and then ended the day at Athens Twilight, which they’ve gone to every year they’ve been together. What a perfect day. Congrats, Brenda & Hunter!
