Emily & Noah have the cutest story beginning on the first day of high school, so I’m going to let Emily tell it in her words below:
“We met as high school freshman. I first saw Noah on our first day of school during our Welcome Pep Rally. I later found out we had two classes together, and it was then that I made it my mission to get to know this cute boy. It’s definitely true that opposites attract, as I was this boisterous cheerleader who was so intrigued by this quiet boy on the drumline. After a few months of getting to know each other in class and during football games, Noah asked me out on October 5th, 2005 and we’ve been smitten ever since.”
The coolest part? They tied the knot on October 5th, 2019 — their dating anniversary – and the date in which they had been together for 14 years, which is exactly half of their lives.
Their wedding day was so “them.” They did a unity painting during their ceremony and danced to Mayday Parade’s Piece of your Heart for their first dance. They’re both huge Disney fans, so they added little touches of Disney here and there in their décor. See if you can spot the Hidden Mickeys in their cake and flowers and Emily’s veil.
I loved how giddy and inseparable Emily & Noah were on the wedding day. During the first look, Emily looked at Noah and said “babe this is really happening!!” And they proceeded to hold hands and dance together and hog the photo booth during the reception. It really looked like two high schoolers completely smitten with each other.
The days leading up to their wedding were in the mid-nineties, but a cold front came in on their wedding day, making it in the 60’s and misty. I loved not sweating so much, and it gave Emily an excuse to throw on her grandmother’s fur as the sun was setting. Another family touch was the Army VW car that Emily’s family had sent over from Germany in 2000… which Emily used as transportation into her ceremony (what an entrance!).
All in all, it was an amazing day, and I am so excited for this couple as they begin the next step of their journey together. Congratulations Emily & Noah!
