I met Haley years ago when studying abroad in Africa. We’ve been friends ever since, and it’s been a joy photographing her and her family, from senior portraits, to her engagement, and now her wedding. She and Micah chose June 27 as their wedding date because it’s Haley’s parents’ anniversary… and then they surprised her parents by giving them the “first dance” they never had at their wedding.
This was my second wedding ever that experienced rain. Fortunately, it came in the form of quick afternoon showers, so we were also blessed with some gorgeous sunlight throughout the day. I loved that the couple & their wedding guests took a UGA bus from the UGA Chapel to the Classic Center for the reception. Haley’s brother is an Orientation Leader and gave them a “tour” of downtown. At the reception, they had a hilarious round of the “shoe game,” and the amazingly talented Sam Burchfield and his band kept everyone dancing the whole night. All in all, it was an incredible day full of family and friends, and I feel blessed to have been a small part of it.
