Where do I even start with what I loved about this wedding? The vibrant fall color scheme of mustard yellow, navy blue, and dark red… Kyndall’s linen skirt paired with vintage & meaningful accessories… When Kyndall & Jacob exchanged sweet letters and gifts during their First Look… The fact that Jacob made his own wedding cake!… Kyndall’s dad officiating the ceremony and pausing to take a selfie… When Jacob & a few of his groomsmen asked the band at the reception if they could use the instruments for a song and then rocked it out to Fall Out Boy.
So so so many great moments & homemade, personal details went into this wedding. Jacob’s brother made a “beer bar” for the reception, which was one of the COOLEST things I’ve seen. It was perfect for Kyndall & Jacob who share a love for visiting breweries and tasting new beers. All of the wooden signs, corn hole boards, etc. were handmade/painted by family members. Kyndall’s garter was made from her mother’s wedding dress. And the style at this wedding was on point. Everyone knows I LOVE the mismatched look, and the groomsmen rocked it with their similar-yet-different blue checked shirts. Kyndall & Jacob got married under an oak tree, shared their first dance in the golden hour rays of sunlight, and danced the night away under a star-filled sky.
All in all, this wedding was one for the books. But if I could only remember one thing from this day, it would be the way people treated me and my team. I have the best clients in the world who treat me more like a trusted friend and less like hired help. Kyndall & Jacob were no exception. They, their families, & their friends all went above and beyond to make my team feel welcome & appreciated on the wedding day. They took care of us from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, and our hearts were on fire as we drove off at the end of the night (with snacks & drinks! ;)). “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” — Maya Angelou. Yes, your wedding day is about YOU, but Kyndall & Jacob used their own special day to pour love onto others, and that is what I will always remember when I think about this dear couple.
