Mary-Morgan & Hoytes are high school sweethearts who have now been together for over 8 years! Between high school football games, basketball games, homecomings & proms, these two spent their teenage years supporting each other and truly “growing up together.” Witnessing the love they share and capturing these special moments for them has been such a treat.
Mary-Morgan is a talented photographer herself, so I was flattered when she asked me to capture their special day. And their wedding day at The Thompson House & Gardens was AMAZING. They chose such a fantastic team of vendors and put so much thought into every detail. And when the bride is a photographer herself, she prioritizes photos! We had a perfect timeline planned out in advance, but when Mary-Morgan saw that the forecast for their day was 100% chance of rain, she knew we had to make some last-minute changes. She actually called me the night before the wedding and opted to skip the “getting ready” time and move their First Look forward in order to have the best chance at outdoor photos (I can’t tell you how much I LOVE this). The chance of rain looked like it would only increase throughout the day, so we got outside as early as possible and knocked out some FANTASTIC images with their family and wedding party. Mary-Morgan & Hoytes are SO glad that they have these outdoor portraits to cherish for the rest of their lives (this is one of the many reasons I love First Looks)! AND we got the best of both worlds, because I took them outside later at night for a romantic photo with the rain coming down.
All in all, it was a perfect day. Mary-Morgan honored her late father with his photo as a charm on her bouquet. Her mom’s first car — a gorgeous blue 1967 chevy — was the “getaway car” for the night. The two flower girls were TOO CUTE FOR WORDS, and I may have taken a million photos of them (only slightly exaggerating). Hoytes & Mary-Morgan exchanged gifts after their sweet First Look. And I was in detail heaven, as this was my first time ever photographing the beautiful “Mrs. Box.” I can go on and on about their day, but I’ll stop and let you look through some photos. :) THANK YOU, Mary-Morgan & Hoytes for trusting me & my team to capture this huge milestone in your relationship!
