Megan & Kevin’s story isn’t your typical “we met and there was an instant connection” type of love story. When they first met, Kevin was Megan’s older brother’s best friend, and Megan was just her brother’s little sister. A few years went by before they started seeing each other differently. At the start of 2015, they decided to give it a chance, and they went on their first official date at Tallulah Gorge (where we returned for their engagement photos). From that day on, they were inseparable.
They tied the knot on October 27 at Sanctuary Estate in Cleveland, Georgia. Megan loves fall and had always wanted a fall wedding, and she got her wish! While it was mostly an overcast day, the sun made a quick appearance at the exact time that we were scheduled to take “golden hour portraits,” and it was glorious. The sun lit up the trees and exposed the beautiful fall colors. It was cold and windy, but they toughed it out in order to get some gorgeous photos. I always note that my “veil blowing in the wind” photos are about 50/50 in whether or not they’re natural or achieved with a little help from my assistant. ;) On this day, the veil shots were 100% unintentional / due to the strong winds!
I’m so thrilled that Megan & Kevin had the wedding of their dreams, and that they are now beginning married life together in their new home. Congrats, Mr. & Mrs. Powell! Thank you for trusting me to capture this special day.
