Shannon & Robbie’s wedding day at the Barn on Belmont in Athens, GA was breathtakingly gorgeous. Every wedding I shoot at this venue is intricately and uniquely decorated with charming, rustic details. There are also photo locations galore around the property, such as hay bales, large trees, stringed lights, you name it… Not to mention the ADORABLE Bridal Cottage where the girls get ready.
Clients sometimes shy away from the Georgia heat, especially in the summer, in order to avoid sweating, runny makeup, etc… but Shannon & Robbie braved it and still decided to spend all of their portrait time on the wedding day outdoors (which I love!). We did their first look and most of their portraits in a gorgeous field of purple wildflowers, despite the heat and lack of shade. With how natural and fun this couple is to photograph, you’d never know how hot it was by looking at the photos. Shannon & Robbie even chose to step out of their reception for some “golden hour” shots, which are my favorite and Shannon’s favorite (see their golden sun-hazy engagement session here!).
Shannon & Robbie chose an amazing team of vendors for their special day, which allowed it to flow smoothly and perfectly. I was obsessed with the sweet flower girls and their gorgeous dresses from Etsy. One of the most touching moments of the day was when Shannon’s sweet daughter, Ava, was included in the wedding ceremony and given a locket necklace from her parents. All in all, it was a perfect day for an amazing couple.
