Shannon & Shepard got married on March 2nd at one of my top “bucket list” venues, Barnsley Resort, and it was even dreamier than I could’ve imagined. Everywhere I turned, it looked like it was straight out of a fairytale. The ruins were adorned with candles where bricks were missing, and the old fireplaces gave off a romantic glow during the nighttime cocktail hour.
Every little detail of their day was personalized and intentionally crafted. The amount of love poured into planning and implementing this day was astounding. Many of the vendors were old family friends, and several even helped with Shannon’s parents’ wedding over 30 years ago. These friends and loved ones joined forces to make this day so unique and memorable.
Shannon’s grandfather built the cross that they stood in front of as they shared their vows. Shepard gifted Shannon a necklace to wear, which included her late grandmother’s diamond. The ring bearer pillow was passed down from Shannon’s parents’ wedding and updated with lace from her mom’s dress. I could go on and on about the thoughtful little personal touches incorporated into this day, and it was just so special.
I loved that Shannon & Shepard prioritized time for just the two of them on the wedding day to slow down and take it all in. We planned for a lot of time in the timeline to just walk around the gardens, enjoy the weather, and take romantic photos. After the reception began, Shannon & Shepard left to enjoy their first meal as husband and wife in their private honeymoon suite.
Congratulations, Shannon & Shepard! I pray that all of your days are filled with as much love as I witnessed on your wedding day.
