Alyssa & Josh met in 8th grade and began dating in 9th grade! When they graduated from high school, they chose to attend different colleges. However, after one year apart, Alyssa transferred schools to run cross country & Josh transferred schools for his cadet program. As fate would have it, they ended up at the same school — the University of North Georgia! This past summer, Alyssa & Josh both studied abroad in Ireland. While exploring the Cliffs of Moher (the #1 place Alyssa wanted to see while in Ireland), Josh asked a passerby to take their photo against the breathtaking background. This was when he dropped to one knee and asked Alyssa to spend the rest of her life with him. After almost 8 years together, Alyssa & Josh tied the knot at the Wheeler House in Ball Ground, Georgia!
Alyssa & Josh had 10 bridesmaids, 10 groomsmen, 2 flower girls, and one ring bearer, making this the BIGGEST wedding party I’ve ever photographed! I loved the matching gold bracelets & earrings the bridesmaids wore, the sparkly Kate Spade Keds that Alyssa wore during the reception, and the flower crowns that adorned the flower girls. In fact, get ready for a lot of super cute flower girl photos… I just couldn’t get enough! I also loved so many moments during this wedding, with the main one being Alyssa & Josh’s sweet First Look. The way they looked at each other in that moment and all through their portrait time afterward made me melt. Their height difference is precious, and Josh even picked Alyssa up and danced with her in his arms during a portion of their first dance. Speaking of dancing, another favorite moment of mine was when Josh’s great grandparents “won” the anniversary dance… When it was announced that they had been married 71 years, I lost it. Watching them remain on the dance floor for most of the night and hold each other as they danced to slow & fast songs alike was one of the sweetest things I’ve ever witnessed.
All in all, Alyssa & Josh had the perfect day, and I feel so honored to have captured it. I want to thank all vendors who also helped put this day together:
