I was over the moon when David contacted me about photographing his proposal to Emily. I love love love when proposals are captured, because then you can always look back at that special moment and remember it through photos. I love the emotions I captured with David and Emily — surprise, excitement, & SO much joy!!
David decided to propose at their first date spot: The Pit! They pulled up, he turned on music, and they danced (apparently they also did this on their first date, and David taught Emily how to swing dance!). Meanwhile, I was hiding in a shed in the distance with a zoom lens capturing the entire thing. :) I always get so nervous about photographing proposals because you only get one shot at it, but with the proper planning, David & I were sure to get the photos we wanted. He had even rigged a tarp to cover the opening of the shed, and Emily was shocked when David pointed to where I was hiding. Success! Fellas, if you’re thinking about popping the question, consider hiring a photographer to capture it!
After David told Emily about my presence, I came out from hiding and took some sweet engagement-style photos during their first moments as fiancés. Emily kept jumping up and down, and when I tried photographing close-ups of the ring, I had to work around her shaking hands. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that much excitement from one person! I couldn’t be happier for this sweet couple, and I’m so honored to have been able to witness these special moments!
