Last year I got to do a combined senior session with Kayla & Hanna as Kayla graduated from UGA and Hanna graduated from high school. It was such a fun session with these sisters, even though we had to battle some of the craziest winds I’ve ever experienced during a photoshoot. Fortunately they liked the photos enough that Kayla mentioned to her boyfriend “When you propose, I want Claire to capture it.” … And he did! I was so thrilled when I heard from Jacob, and even more ecstatic when I found out his plans to propose. He & Hanna conspired to convince Kayla that a helicopter tour of Atlanta had been booked for their mom’s birthday. It was supposed to be Kayla, Hanna, and her mom taking the tour, but when Kayla arrived to the helipad, it was Jacob who was there waiting for her. *swoon*
It’s always been a dream of mine to photograph at Ventanas in Atlanta, which has a 360 degree rooftop view of the city. And it was just as epic as I had hoped. Ironically Kayla’s second time in front of my camera was just as windy as the first, but that’s to be expected when you’re on the top of a tall building. :) Everything about the proposal was a dream… they even sipped champagne and then took off via helicopter into the sunset.
