Sara & Gavin both went to UGA and met through a mutual friend at a birthday party. After both graduating, work took them to different cities and most of their relationship was long distance… But fortunately Gavin is a pilot! So he would save time by flying rather than driving to see Sara on weekends, or picking her up and taking her somewhere for a weekend. In fact, on their first date, they flew from Athens to Atlanta where they had dinner reservations, went to see the Nutcracker at the Fox Theatre, and went flightseeing over the city all in one night! WHAT AN EPIC FIRST DATE.
Early on in the relationship, Sara bought Gavin airplane cufflinks, which he brought to the engagement session and will be wearing on the wedding day. We of course took engagement photos in Athens — the city where they first met, where they started most of their first dates, and where they continue to fly back to for UGA games. We started on UGA’s North Campus and ended at the Athens Ben Epps Airport, where we even got to sit inside a plane! It was such a fun time, and a cool inside peek into their relationship.
I am SO glad that Sara found my work years ago and reached out when she got engaged. She & Gavin are just the sweetest couple, and I cannot wait to capture their wedding in November.
