Today I handed over the keys and said goodbye to this space. My first ever studio. 1200 square feet of tall ceilings, original hardwood floors, large windows, exposed brick walls, and LOTS of dreams.
I will never forget the day I stood before Watkinsville’s City Council and proposed to open a photography studio on Main Street.
I will never forget cutting a ribbon with the mayor of Watkinsville on the front steps of the studio while friends, family, and passersby cheered me on.
I will never forget the countless client meetings I held, the Christmas parties I hosted, and the hours I spent dreaming with my team of interns.
I will never forget collaborating with talented hair & makeup artists during my Spotlight Sessions… and all of the brave women who stepped vulnerably in front of my camera.
I will never forget all of the brides, grooms, and their families that sat around the table/TV during Reveals… and the laughter and tears while they viewed their wedding photos for the first time.
To say that I loved this space would be an understatement.
It’s hard to sum up the past 3+ years of being in this studio, but two words that come to mind are growth & love. It’s crazy to think about how much my business has grown over these years, and how many clients I have gotten to love on in this space. The love I have received has been even greater. To everyone who has been a part of this journey or crossed the threshold of 16C N Main Street, thank you. I would not be able to pursue my dreams without you.
It will be weird walking down Main Street and no longer being a part of downtown Watkinsville. This charming little town won my heart. But while this is the end of an era, this is also the start of something new. And I might’ve cried my eyes out while leaving this space if I weren’t SO EXCITED about what’s coming next (okay, so I might’ve cried anyway).
