I met Amanda when she became one of my roommates this past year. During our year living under the same roof, I was lucky to witness firsthand the beauty of her relationship with Josh… how well he loved her, how they complement each other in so many ways, and how they push each other toward Christ. They’re seriously one of the coolest couples I’ve ever encountered, and I knew it was only a matter of time before they’d vow to be together forever. I remember the day Josh leaked to me his plans to propose to Amanda, and I remember the day a month later when Amanda texted me a photo of a gorgeous engagement ring on her hand.
Once the engagement began, I was in heaven, because now I had a girl living with me who wanted to talk about wedding things as much as I always do. :) I enjoyed brainstorming venues with Amanda, and I couldn’t believe it when she actually booked my dream venue: The Farm at High Shoals! She and Josh also used many of my preferred vendors and put together a DREAM TEAM for their big day. But even with all of the time and detail they put into planning their dream day, they never lost sight of what’s most important. “We love because He first loved us.” Their wedding was a beautiful display of God’s love, and every moment/detail of the day symbolized the committing of their marriage to the Lord. From the wooden signs sharing scripture as you entered the property, to their intimate First Look when they took communion together, to their personal vows and prayers during the ceremony… all of it pointed toward Christ.
This was my first wedding at the Farm at High Shoals (although I had previously taken Amanda’s bridal portraits there), and the venue is even dreamier than I had imagined. Amanda & Josh got ready at the gorgeous Villa, said their “I Do’s” in the vineyard at sunset, and danced the night away in the stables. I feel so honored to have captured these special moments, and I hope you love the photos as much as I do!
