Jackie & Taylor | White Oaks Barn
Dahlonega Wedding

November 16, 2020

I don’t even know where to start when it comes to Jackie & Taylor and how much they’ve come to mean to me. I will forever be grateful that my job connected me with these two incredible people who I now consider dear friends. And where to start with their wedding?!? There’s SO MUCH to say about this great day that I’d been looking forward to ever since Jackie first reached out to me. It was so evident how much thought was being put into every little detail and how much love & intention surrounded every decision.

They decided to tie the knot at White Oaks Barn in Dahlonega, GA — the first and only venue they looked at… apparently Jackie pulled into the driveway and began crying and just knew it was the one.  White Oaks barn had actually been on my bucket list for a while, and I must say that it exceeded EVERY expectation. Truly stunning backdrops everywhere you’d turn.

They also got married on the most PERFECT weather day and as Lindsay Lohan would say… “It’s October 3rd.” :)

Every part of the day was SO emotional, starting with Jackie’s “First Look” with her brother Philip.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen a closer sibling relationship — he even walked Jackie down the aisle and shared a First Dance with her at the reception.  Cue the tears.  Jackie also had an emotional First Look with her bridesmaids and her dad before seeing Taylor.  And even though she & Taylor shared a sweet First Look, Taylor STILL teared up watching Jackie walk down the aisle later in the day.  I always tell my couples: doing a First Look doesn’t take away from that moment — it gives you TWO of them.

More tears were shed during the First Dances & during Jackie’s mom’s welcome speech.  It wasn’t lost on them that even during a pandemic so many people chose to come out and celebrate their union with them.  And of course they provided masks, hand sanitizer, and outdoor seating to ensure their loved ones could feel as safe as they chose.

I kid you not when I say EVERY detail was personalized.  The tissues, the napkins, the cups, you name it!  I was in detail heaven.  Even their sweet pup Dapper (who I met at their engagement session) was included on a charm on Jackie’s bouquet.

There was so much love and joy all around — which I think is evident through the huge smiles and visible tears in these photos.

Other moments I loved… when Jackie pinched Taylor’s butt to indicate that he could turn around during their First Look (something she said “is so them”), when Taylor naturally leaned in to kiss Jackie mid-ceremony without realizing it and Jackie had to throw up her hands to stop him, when Taylor’s “fire family” (he’s a fireman) serenaded Jackie at the reception, when Jackie showed off her “Mrs. Bradford” jean jacket during a pom pom exit (the pom poms were UGA & OSU colored to represent their love of college football).  SO MANY GREAT MOMENTS that I’ll never have time to touch on.  The cutest flower girl & ring bearer, the custom marquee of lights that decorated the reception after dark, the moment Jackie surprised her mom with a dance on the dancefloor.

I’m going to cut myself off or this will go on forever.

Jackie & Taylor, y’all have been a bright light in a weird/chaotic/stressful/difficult year.  I am so so grateful that you chose to trust me with capturing these precious moments, and I am so thrilled that you were able to have the wedding day of your dreams.  CONGRATULATIONS!!
