Jessie & Thomas are high school sweethearts and have been together for over 8 years! They decided to get married on a family farm in Jefferson, known as Foxwood Farms, and it was perfect! I remember touring the farm during their engagement session before they started working on it, and the way they transformed the property into an awesome wedding venue is incredible! Jessie & Thomas chose October 15 for their date, which is the same date Jessie’s parents, grandparents, AND great grandparents got married. It also happens to be Thomas’ birthday!
Everyone knows I adore First Looks, but Jessie and Thomas are a great example of how you can still have a perfect wedding day without sharing a First Look. They mindfully scheduled their timeline so that they could take care of the majority of wedding party photos before the ceremony. They also took into account the sunset time when choosing the start time of their ceremony, so we had plenty of daylight to work with afterward. And they opened up the buffet for guests to eat at the reception before they entered so that we could take our time getting fantastic photos without feeling like guests were waiting on us. It was perfect.
While Jessie & Thomas didn’t do a First Look, Jessie shared one with her dad… and it was one of the most touching moments I’ve witnessed. She had told me in advance that she’s a “daddy’s girl” with having all brothers, and that was evident on the day-of. This wedding also holds the record for the LARGEST wedding party I’ve ever photographed (12 bridesmaids & 12 groomsmen!). It was obvious that Jessie & Thomas have a really amazing group of friends & family who all came together to make their day so incredible. There were tons of DIY touches including all of the bouquets/florals which were made by Jessie’s mom! All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better day for this sweet couple. Even the weather was perfect, with only a few minutes of sprinkling rain during the reception… and of course I snagged Jessie & Thomas for a quick “rain shot.” :) Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Sears, and thank you for trusting me to capture these precious moments for you!
