Where do I even start? I’ve been photographing Julia & her family for many years, and I even got to capture Julia’s graduation photos from UGA in 2016. When she got engaged, I was so stoked to finally meet Drew and witness the two of them together… and y’all, THEY ARE ADORABLE. What started off as “a redhead and a brunette walked into a bar” — no seriously, that’s how they met — has turned into the amazing relationship they have now.
They tied the knot on November 3rd at Legacy Pointe at Lake Lanier Islands on a day full of sunshine and peak fall colors. Julia wore probably my favorite wedding dress to date and looked like an absolute angel. The food was great, their dog Millie was the best ring bearer, the dance floor stayed hopping all night, and they served communion to their family and friends during the sweetest ceremony. All in all, it was a fairytale day.
Julia & Drew are both very outdoorsy and adventurous people (they love things like zip lining, snorkeling, hiking, etc.), so I mentioned to them in advance that I’d love to take them out onto some rocks by the water for pictures… but I was worried that it would be too “treacherous” for a bride in heels. Julia’s immediate response was “I’ll just throw on my off-roading shoes” — AKA her adorable sparkly Keds. I love when couples are adventurous and down to try new things… Plus, those moments when you step away from the hustle and bustle of a wedding day and just enjoy each other… those are the moments you’ll remember forever.

Julia & her mom made these hot air balloon lanterns for decor… because Drew proposed to Julia during a surprise hot air balloon ride!
It’s a rare occasion that I make it into photos, but when the groom pulls me onto the dance floor, I can’t say no!
