Kayla & Ben met TEN years ago as freshmen at the University of Georgia, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. From backpacking Europe to living in different places (including Atlanta, Connecticut, and even Thailand!), they’ve had countless adventures together over the past decade.
I met Kayla when she was a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed 7 years ago (it’s CRAZY how time flies). After that, I got to capture some portraits of her when she got into Yale Law School, and then I actually met up with Kayla & Ben during my spontaneous trip to Thailand in 2019. So I was super jazzed when they officially got engaged and chose me to capture their wedding day. What none of us knew was that soon Covid would throw a wrench in our plans. They ended up pushing their wedding back an entire year, but let me tell you… it was 1000% worth the wait.
They tied the knot at Summerour Studio, which is a BREATHTAKING venue in Atlanta that makes you feel a little like you’re in Italy. We were given a pretty grim weather forecast for the day, but it ended up being SO much better than we expected. The rain held off just long enough for us to capture all the photos we wanted in the courtyard. Kayla’s bridesmaids looked stunning in their emerald green velvet dresses. Speaking of “emerald,” Emerald Empire Band rocked the house during the reception. And the meal by Bold Catering & Design was 100% vegetarian and one of the best meals I’ve ever had at a wedding.
It was truly the wonderful day that Kayla & Ben deserved, and I couldn’t be happier for them.
