Kristina & Jerry met through mutual friends at dinner parties while attending UGA. You can read more about their story and view their engagement photos here! This Memorial Day weekend, they tied the knot at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Athens, Georgia. It was a beautiful sunny day full of family, friends, laughter & tears.
As I was taking photos of Kristina getting ready, she was SO excited to see Jerry. Fortunately they chose to do a First Look, so she didn’t have to wait too long! The moment when they first saw each other was too sweet, and Kristina teared up reading a letter from Jerry (and actually had to stop reading and finish later so as not to become a blubbering mess!). They then enjoyed each other’s company as we walked around the gorgeous church and took photos at the many diverse & stunning backdrops. I also loved that their day had a strong focus on family — their wedding party was comprised of only their siblings, which created a really special dynamic during photo time.
After the sweetest ceremony, we headed over to the Athens Country Club for their reception. Kristina & Jerry shared an impressive first dance after taking lessons with Ana Drobeniuc at Dancefx. I then pulled them outside for a couple “golden hour shots” before dinner. Speaking of dinner, my team was BLOWN AWAY by how we were treated at the country club. It’s rare that we’re treated like guests at a wedding when it comes time for dinner, but we were given spots at a table and were waited on for a two course meal of our choosing. It was legitimately the best meal we’ve EVER had at a wedding (future brides take note: a happy photographer is better than a hangry photographer ;)).
All in all, the day couldn’t have gone more smoothly. I loved capturing Kristina’s huge smile, their adorable height difference, and every sweet moment they shared with their family and friends. Thanks to all the vendors who contributed to this amazing day!
