Ellen & John met in college at Kansas University in 2009. Ellen’s sorority, Sigma Kappa, was paired with John’s fraternity, Theta Chi, for a musical. Ellen didn’t participate in the musical, but her Matron of Honor was John’s dance partner! Their sorority/fraternity houses continued to get closer, which allowed them to build a solid friendship (while both dating other people). It wasn’t until 2014 when they were both single at the same time that they realized there might be something more than friendship between them. They began dating long distance (traveling between Kansas and Atlanta), but now they’re both settled and living in the suburbs of Kansas City.
Their wedding was held at the Ritz-Carlton in downtown Atlanta, and it was stunning! Ellen looked like royalty in her long-sleeved classic wedding dress. The florals by Holland Daze blew me away, as usual. And even though their golden retriever, Clark, couldn’t join the festivities, they made sure and included him in their wedding cake (so cute!). This was my first Jewish wedding, and I loved capturing their Ketubah signing ceremony, the breaking of glass, and the hora dance during the reception.
Congratulations, Ellen & John, and thank you for trusting me to capture these moments!
