If y’all have been following along over the past year, I’m sure you’ve seen Anu & Brett by now. I’ve gotten to photograph them 3 times over the past year… first their engagement session, then their pre-wedding portraits, and now their wedding day. Like many of my couples, Anu & Brett met on Bumble (how else do people meet nowadays?). Within about 3 months of dating, the pandemic hit — which led to Anu & Brett quarantining together pretty early in the relationship. Like the rest of the country, they binge-watched Tiger King and tried to make their own sourdough bread, all the while falling more and more in love. They discovered paddleboarding together and made space in their lives for many other hobbies, including tennis, hiking, and working out. It turned out to be the best bonding experience and reinforced their suspicions that they were perfect for each other.
Fast forward to their wedding day at the Georgian Terrace Hotel in downtown Atlanta, which was AMAZING. Getting married downtown is such a unique experience because you’re navigating your wedding day events while surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the city. While taking portraits outside, Anu & Brett were congratulated by honking cars and cheering passersby. One second I’m standing in the middle of Peachtree Street in order to get a shot of the entire wedding party, and the next minute Anu is almost getting run over by a scooter. It was crazy, but just added to the overall excitement of the day.
From their “second look,” which was JUST as sweet as the first, to Brett’s adorable nieces & nephews as flower girls & ring bearers, to the IMPRESSIVE choreographed waltz they did at the reception, and all the little moments in between… this day was truly one for the books.
